From recent gatherings
“Before the weekend I was a little nervous about spending an entire weekend with people I don’t know. I was unsure if the environment would be open or welcoming. If it would be awkward or weird or that I’d have nothing in common with anyone, but after getting here I discovered that I actually had so much in common with so many people and it was a very warm, welcoming environment.”
— Clementine, 22 · Weekend Intensive
“I was excited about the endless possibilities of what this weekend could entail, but also simultaneously nervous that this entire experience could’ve been pulled entirely from a horror movie… which speaks to my skepticism around connecting with strangers lol. Once I arrived, I discovered I couldn’t have been in a more safe space, which granted me space to air all of my questions/nerves about the weekend overall, and create the space to be myself.”
— Participant, 24 · Weekend Intensive
“There was a lot of uncertainty before arriving — about what it would be like, what I actually had to offer, and whether I would fit. But once I arrived, and once I had a chance to settle; to breathe, I opened up. It’s like I stopped worrying about who I was supposed to be in the space, and was instead able to just, simply, be. There was a necessary leap of faith: to trust the process, to commit, to be genuine. But the payoff was so worth it. The more I gave, the more I received in return. Even though going in (somewhat) blind, and being truly honest was scary, I’m glad I didn’t do it any other way. And I ended up finding a space where I felt I could fit.”
— Zoe, 22 · Residency
“I felt anxiety before this trip. I definitely had some limiting beliefs. I definitely didn’t trust myself. I was putting myself down. Saying, ‘What if this doesn’t work out?’”
— Rebecca, 28 · Weekend Intensive
“I felt as though I had questions with regards to so many aspects of my life but no real answers or direction. Over the course of the weekend, I found clarity in thought. I was grateful to be given the space, outside the bubble of my everyday life, to sit with myself and with the gathering, and determine my purpose and alignment with intention. I was able to underscore the trajectory I wanted my life to take, and outline actionable ways of converging my existing alignment with where I wanted to be.”
— M, 24 · Weekend Intensive
What shifted. What people are carrying forward:
“Context is the fabric that we paint on. What shifted for me this weekend, is how I can always give myself to ‘be’, and exist in community while doing so… being seen and perceived isn’t as bad as I once thought it would be.”
“The main thing that shifted for me was that I am open to change. That I am not afraid of change. I am capable and have the capacity, courage, determination to do what is best for myself. I make really great, healthy decisions for myself. It’s just that I’ve been in an environment that makes it seem like I’m going backwards instead of forwards. I give myself the permission to let the best version of me come forward. I am safe in myself and allow myself to do the things that feel good to me.”
“Something I will be carrying forward is my curiosity. I am a lover of learning and I love asking questions about people and places, collecting people’s stories and I feel like my curiosity was embraced and encouraged so I’ll definitely carry that with me going forward.”
“I sat with the concept of individual purpose not necessarily having to overlap with societal design and expectations. I will be carrying that divergence of thought, and all that comes along with it, forward with me. A phrase that shifted much of my internal philosophy is Pedro's statement where he mentioned the only thing more powerful than a constraint is the truth realized.”
“It’s hard to put into words the shift, at least in part because the effects are so far reaching. But I suppose the overarching theme is a newfound sense of clarity; clarity about what I need, what I should do next, and what I have to offer. Both on a personal level, and on a broader, societal level. Things just make more sense now, like a self-imposed fog has lifted and now I can see what’s in front of me. I understand now where I’m supposed to be going, and I can see how to get there.”

Applying for a gathering
Both gathering types (group Weekend Intensive and individual Residency) are free; for the Weekend Intensive, there is no cost to attend the gathering itself, except that attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging. For the Residency, lodging is fully provided, and travel is partially subsidized for those coming from far away. Once you arrive, most other things are covered for you.
Instead of a cost, there is a careful application process. You share a little about where you are in life and what draws you, and go through a few questions. There’s nothing you need to prepare.
If admitted, you will receive comprehensive logistics including what to bring, where we’ll be, and the daily rhythm.
Applications are currently closed; subscribe to the letter to hear when the next one opens.
